ATTORNEY PROFILE
Silvia Gonzalez
BIOGRAPHY
Mrs. Gonzalez is the proud daughter of immigrants who came to the U.S. in search of the American Dream. Both her parents had no more than a 5th-grade education. However, through their actions and accomplishments, they ingrained in Mrs. Gonzalez the belief that through hard work and dedication anything is possible.
This work ethic and belief drove Mrs. Gonzalez to accomplish many academic and professional feats. Mrs. Gonzalez is a graduate of some of America’s most prestigious academic institutions. She received her undergraduate degree from Stanford University where she graduated with honors. She then received a masters degree from Harvard University and juris doctorate from Loyola Law School.
Prior to law school, Mrs. Gonzalez enjoyed a successful career as a healthcare executive at a fortune 500 health insurance company. However, her successes left her unfulfilled. She wanted to use her education to make a difference in people's lives. Specifically, to help the immigrant community she came from. So, she decided to go to law school.
During law school, Mrs. Gonzalez volunteered with Catholic Charities Immigration Services and Loyola Law School’s Immigrant Justice Clinic. After law school, and to the present, Mrs. Gonzalez volunteers with the Los Angeles County Bar Association’s (LACBA) Immigration Legal Assistance Project and LACBA’s Pro Bono Panel through which she serves as a pro bono attorney in immigration court.
These experiences helped solidify Mrs. Gonzalez’ passion for immigration law and opened her eyes to the tremendous need for affordable, accessible, quality immigration legal services among immigrant communities in the Los Angeles area. Inspired to make a difference, Mrs. Gonzalez decided to open up her own law practice dedicated to immigration law. A law practice that would help others have a shot at the same opportunities she and her parents were afforded -- a shot at the American Dream.
Mrs. Gonzalez is fluent in Spanish and in her spare time enjoys running, cooking and spending time with her husband and son.
